Ingredients:

  • 250g all-purpose flour

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a baking sheet (about 9×13 inches or similar).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk. Begin and end with the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter onto the prepared baking sheet and spread it evenly.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. While the cake is baking, prepare the topping. In a saucepan, melt the butter, sugar, honey, and heavy cream over medium heat. Stir continuously until the mixture thickens slightly.
  9. Once the cake is done baking, remove it from the oven and immediately spread the candied almond mixture over the top.
  10. Pour the hot butter and sugar mixture evenly over the almonds, ensuring the entire surface is covered.
  11. Allow the cake to cool completely before cutting it into squares or rectangles.
